A MONOLOGUE WITH THE LORD

Having listened to sermons,

Danced to encouraging songs,

Prayed in Faith,

Yet the situation remains the same,

Year in year out

How much longer God?

Reading book after book,

podcasts on repeat,

Seeking the King of Kings,

Yet the situation remains the same,

Year in year out

How much longer God?

You are Jireh, why aren’t you providing?

Jehovah Rapha, how come I am still hurting?

El Ra’ah, why am I feeling lost?

You are El Gibbor, so shouldn’t I be winning?

I want to trust in your perfect ways,

Gotta believe in your Fatherly instincts,

Need to swallow whatever you feed me,

Trust that you know what’s best for me,

Your good character unchanging,

You are in control of everything,

You do all out of love,

Nothing ever catches you by surprise,

You are making my foundations in you just right,

Your word will always come to pass,

Your burden is very very light,

Your name a tower in the night,

Gotta trust you are in the details of my day-day life,

That you care about the small stuff,

Cover me from weapons and negative attacks,

That you know that I know you don’t owe me anything,

You see I believe in you and your son,

You know I appreciate everything I have,

And I am forever grateful to be called your child!
